In view of the number of financial scams is persistently high and the modus operandi of such scams seems to be capricious over the time, it is necessary to sustain our public education efforts to remind the public to stay vigilant against phishing and other financial scams. In this connection, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) plans to take an innovative and unconventional approach in developing the publicity materials by producing a song based on a popular melody with customised lyrics to convey the HKMA’s anti-scam messages and sung by a popular singer as a gimmicky promotion to reach the general public.
